Myrolion High Polyphenol Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Nature's Daily Support
From a family-owned olive grove in Greece.
Organic. Extra Virgin. Cold-Pressed. Naturally High in Polyphenols.
Myrolion is not simply an olive oil for dressing a salad. It is a premium organic extra virgin olive oil crafted for people who want exceptional flavour and the naturally occurring polyphenols of carefully produced EVOO in their everyday diet.
Myrolion contains 705 mg/kg total polyphenols, together with 364 mg/kg oleocanthal, and the oil is cold-pressed below 27°C.

What Makes Myrolion Different?
Many extra virgin olive oils are chosen mainly for flavour. Myrolion brings together taste, organic cultivation and an unusually high concentration of naturally occurring olive polyphenols.
Myrolion oil contains:
705 mg/kg Total Polyphenols
364 mg/kg Oleocanthal
5,400 mg/kg Squalene
72.41% Oleic Acid
0.14% Acidity
Cold-Pressed Below 27°C
Myrolion is certified Extra Virgin and certified organic, and publishes its chemical, sensory and health-claim analyses.

High Polyphenol - What Does It Actually Mean?
Polyphenols are naturally occurring compounds found in olives. Their concentration can be influenced by the olive variety, growing conditions, harvest timing and the way the olives are processed.
Careful harvesting and cold extraction are central to preserving these valuable compounds. Myrolion oil is extracted at temperatures below 27°C.
Most importantly, this isn't simply a marketing use of the words "high polyphenol."
Under EU Regulation 432/2012, the authorised health claim applies to olive oil containing at least 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives per 20 g of olive oil.

Make it Part of Your Daily Ritual
Great olive oil doesn't need to feel like taking a supplement.
Enjoy approximately 20g a day as part of your normal diet — around 1½ tablespoons.
Take it directly if you enjoy the characteristic intensity of high-polyphenol olive oil, or make it part of something you already eat every day.
Drizzle it over a salad.
Finish vegetables, soup or grilled fish.
Blend it into a vinaigrette.
Pour it over sourdough.
Or simply enjoy it directly.

Taste the Difference
High-polyphenol olive oil shouldn't be judged by numbers alone.
Myrolion describes its sensory character with aromas of tomato and artichoke, accompanied by balanced bitterness and pungency. Its current sensory analysis reports fruitiness of 4.8, bitterness of 4.0 and pungency of 4.8, with zero sensory defects reported.
That characteristic peppery sensation is part of the personality of a high-quality, polyphenol-rich EVOO.
Aroma: Tomato, artichoke
Palate: Fresh, fruity, balanced bitterness
Finish: Distinctive, peppery, vibrant

About Polyphenol
The fruit of olea europaea contains chemical compounds called phenols or phenolic compounds.
Phenols are a hydroxyl group (-OH) bonded to an aromatic hydrocarbon group. When a phenolic compound forms a larger chain it becomes a polyphenol.
In 2012, the EU published Regulation 432/2012. This regulation establishes a list of permitted health claims for foods.
The health claim for olive oil polyphenols is the following: "Olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress."
Of course, conditions apply for the use of the health claim. The claim is valid for olive oils that contain at least 5 milligrams of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives (e.g. oleuropein complex and tyrosol) per 20g of olive oil, approximately one tablespoon and a half. To bear the claim information shall be given to the consumer that the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 20g of olive oil.
Certified laboratories can analyze olive oil samples to reveal the oil’s phenolic profile. If the Regulation’s conditions are valid, the olive oil can bear a high phenolic label.
